About Alyssa
I love to read and recommend romantic fantasies where the fantasy plot is epic and the romance is totally swoon-worthy. It’s hard to find those diamonds in the rough in the genre, so I’m here to make it easier for you. I’m always up to yap about epic fantasies, sci-fi books, and romantasy reads on my bookstagram @alyssa__reads — come join me for a coffee clutch sometime!

"The Everlasting is a standalone fantasy book that features one of the most lyrical and delicious romantic plots I’ve read. Owen Mallory, a scholar, falls in love with the story of Una Everlasting, a lady knight who was a legend long before his time. Una’s story ends up taking Owen to war, to the archives―and then into the past itself. Una and Owen are tangled together in time, bound to retell the same story over and over again, no matter what it costs. I recommend this book if you are looking for a standalone romantic fantasy." - Alyssa

"I’ve struggled recently finding a romantic fantasy that focused on the plot/world building and balanced it with a solid romance story. Reign & Ruin delivers on this front 110%. Reign & Ruin works as a standalone fantasy and is a romance too. It is part of an interconnected romantic fantasy series. You get all of the generic aspects of a romance (meet cute, he’s on his knees muddy and bloody when he meets her; witty banter, so much tension; spicy scenes, professing their undying love; third act conflict, handled really well; etc.) with the awesome background of a well-written unique fantasy. Chef’s kiss, no edits." - Alyssa

"The Scorched Throne duology is top tier and what I recommend when people are looking for a true enemies to lovers romantic fantasy. Sylvia, the female main character, is also one of the best examples of feminine rage because as a reader you will be raging with her against the system. Arin and Sylvia truly despise each other making their hate…and love…balance on a knives’ edge. These books combine well-researched mythology and lore from Ancient Egypt worthy of an epic romantic fantasy read." - Alyssa

"The Road of Bones brought me out of a massive romantasy reading slump! This romantic fantasy with Norse mythology and Viking lore has all of the elements I look for in a fantasy: well-developed world building, tension you could cut with a blade, an adventure with found family, epic battles scenes I can easily picture, respect that is earned between characters, and an ominous "bad guy" pulling the strings in the background. I highly recommend this series to those readers who find the genre too repetitive lately and wanting a fresh story." - Alyssa
